No matter what your age, if you are persistent, keep learning, and take inspired action, you will live an inspired life.
Reflecting on just entering my 6th decade, I asked myself what I wish I had known when I was younger.
Three things came to me.
First I wish I had known how or that it was okay to love myself.
Next I wish I had known the importance of choosing a career path that inspired me early in my life.
Thirdly, I wish I had realized all along that there is Divine perfection in everything that happens.
From where I sit now in time, reflecting back, I’ve had a wonderful life. I have learned these three things through much pain, depression, swimming upstream, and then finally getting out of my own way.
I know now that all along it was up to me. It wasn’t because my dad died when I was 5, or that I perceived my mom was emotionally unavailable.
It wasn’t because no one told me about possibilities in careers or options to relocate. All of that was divine perfection, guiding me to find it all in me.
I am grateful for the pain of career choices that did not inspire me. I see what I learned being in Corporate America and the benefit it is to me today. I look at all of the time I spent trying to make my mom happy and I see what I learned during that process and how it benefits me and others today.
I no longer spend time trying to make other people happy. That is their responsibility.
I am grateful for the lessons and the letting go.
I feel like I finally KNOW myself. I have learned that it is not only okay to LOVE myself, but it is necessary in order to love another. And I am practicing BEING my authentic self and offering my gifts to the world.
My words of wisdom: Know yourself, LOVE yourself, and Be yourself to live your unique inspired life.
